Trailer Park Erosion

Problem

This trailer park had a creek going through that was causing erosion issues. On the trailer park side of the creek, the water was eating into the bank and causing trees to fall over. On the other side, it was eroding the bank and causing rip-rap to fall into the creek. As this debris piled up in the creek, the water was being diverted into the banks causing even more erosion. The client had lost roughly 30 feet of his lot due to this erosion.

Solution

Ramps were built into the creek to allow equipment access. Once our equipment was into the creek,  we piled all of the trees that had fallen and burned them. Any rip-rap, stone, or concrete debris was removed from the creek and transported off the property in dump trucks. A wall made of stone and rip-rap was built along the base of the creek to prevent erosion from the creek water. Above that, dirt was reworked and sloped to handle any runoff water into the creek. An erosion fence was placed between the dirt slope and rocks. An erosion fence will hold back dirt from washing into the creek . Finally, the dirt slope was seeded with grass. This will give the slope a finished look and prevent erosion for years to come.
